LOVED #1 : SUGAR PAPER LA

I love, love, love sugar paper! I stumbled across this company during a professional practice branding module at University and I am so fond of everything they create. Anyone who knows me personally will know that I have a weakness when it comes to stationary. I have an abundance of notebooks, most of which I haven't actually written anything in, and I love a good folder to keep my life organised!

This company has inspired me greatly. I love the consistent black, white and gold theme which is seen all over the online shop, and I can't get enough of the gold prints that they stock. I just wish that there was someone who stocked these wonderful designs close to me. Currently, the nearest one is Selfridges in London which is a bit of a pain, but then it does give one the excuse to travel to the city!

Out of all of the lovely items listed above, my favourite by far is the 'perfect binder'. This title is a massive understatement for what it is! For someone who runs 2 small businesses, is due in 2 weeks with their first baby, and is engaged to be married this is by far a necessity in my life! This isn't just an ordinary plain white binder either if that's what you believe I am getting excited about! It is designed for you to make completely personal to your needs. It includes 6 white blank divider tabs, 1 pale pink divider with pockets, 10 clear sleeves, 18 gold foil + 8 blank divider labels, and 12 gold foil + 64 blank, avery compatible divider labels. DREAMY. Now here is the MASSIVE problem. Although they have retailers here who stock Sugar Paper, they only stock a few items and none of them stock this binder product! Not one! Also, to have it shipped from the Los Angeles store in America is $148 alone.

What's more, the Sugar Paper Pinterest page is FULL of inspiration from patterns, to typography, to gorgeous shop windows. This you can check out here.

Does anybody know of any companies similar to this lovely one?!

INSPIRATION

Sources: Pinterest

So, as I am getting close to my due date it seemed fitting to find some inspiration for our little girls nursery. We already have several prints that I have made that will be up on the walls in our new home (we are currently staying with my parents after moving counties 3 months ago) and I am looking for something that is similar to the theme of these to make a large collage wall.

After doing what I do best and spending several hours on Pinterest I have found these prints ideal for inspiration for our little girls room. I love quotes, little woodland illustrations and watercolour prints so I am looking to combining some of these to create my own.

I am feeling simple pastel watercolour animal prints, mixed with a few pretty little quotes and the letter E done in several stylized typography fonts.

Does anybody have any prints that made for a nursery that they wouldn't mind sharing? I'd love to see!

I am Jessica's Letters

The work you do while you procrastinate is probably the work you should be doing for the rest of your life. - Jessica Hische

I couldn't agree more. During my time at University I couldn't stand the thought of doing theory work and ended up doodling during lectures and all over my notebooks. Before studying photography at University I was a student at Plymouth College of Art and Design where I studied Illustration. This was maybe a route I should have taken but I am glad I didn't. At this point in time it is safe to say I won't be pursuing a job to do with photography and I wouldn't like to say the same about my calligraphy!

So after finishing University I moved in with my better half Rion and we are now relocating to Cheltenham together. We are also expecting our first child which is mainly the reason for as to why I have decided to take my hobby full time. After leaving my latest job because of the environment and my timing of sickness coinciding with shifts I have struggled to find work since because nobody seems to want to hire a pregnant lady! Shock! So, with all the spare time on my hands, I feel that now is a better time then ever to start my own business from home.

And so this is the creation of Jessica's Letters, a small design business. For me it is not a job, it is a passion which I can embrace and procrastinate procrastinating without feeling guilty. And for anyone who feels bad about procrastinating; just remember that Mozart wrote the overture to Don Givanni on the morning the opera premiered...
